Privacy Policy
Last updated July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Captyse collects through its website and account portal, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum necessary to run a commercial software business.
1. Information we collect
Account data: your name, email address, optional company, and a securely hashed password. Commerce data: the Editions you purchase, order status, and license keys we issue to you. Payment data: processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on our servers. Technical data: basic logs and, where applicable, download events (timestamp, release, and coarse metadata) to deliver and secure the Services.
2. How we use information
We use your information to: create and manage your account; process purchases and issue licenses; deliver software downloads and updates; provide support; secure the Services and prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Passwords
Passwords are never stored in plaintext. They are hashed with bcrypt (a strong, salted, adaptive hash) before storage. We cannot recover your password; we can only help you reset it.
4. Cookies
We use a single essential, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. A local preference (your chosen theme) is stored in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device.
5. Sharing
We share data only with processors necessary to run the Services — for example, our payment provider and hosting/database provider — under agreements that require them to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data retention
We retain account and commerce records for as long as your account is active and as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your account, subject to records we must retain by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@captyse.com.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, stateless signed sessions, and least-privilege access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
9. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@captyse.com. This document is a template and does not constitute legal advice.
